What the estimate assumes
- Vinyl: Replace 1,250 sq ft of siding with new vinyl siding, factory trim at openings and corners, continuous water-resistive barrier.
- Fiber cement: Replace 1,250 sq ft of siding with factory-primed and painted fiber-cement siding and trim.
Measuring wall area
Multiply the house perimeter by the wall height for each story, add gable triangles (½ × width × gable height), then subtract large openings. Siding is often sold by the “square” (100 sq ft), and installers add waste for cuts.
